Release time: 2024-06-17
On June 13, the College of Life Science and Technology of Guangxi University successfully held the 21st "Life Science Junwu Seminar" in the multi-functional conference Room 107 of the state key laboratory. Professor Song Shiyong from Zhejiang University was invited to give an academic report. The report was hosted by Professor Jin Jian and attracted nearly 100 teachers and graduate students from the university.
Professor Song Shiyong gave an academic report entitled "FTIPs-mediated Protein Trafficking in Rice Development and Stress Tolerance". This study elucidates the molecular mechanism of OsFTIP1-OsMFT1-OsMYB26/OsbZIP66 molecular module involved in rice drought stress response, and reveals a new mechanism of rice that influences the ability of positive and negative regulatory factors to regulate downstream gene expression through fine regulation of nucleoplasmic shuttles of key proteins, so as to achieve efficient and reasonable drought response. It provided a new idea for the subsequent genetic improvement of rice drought resistance.
Through his own scientific research experience, Professor Song Shiyong encouraged the students to maintain an innovative and optimistic attitude to enjoy their own research, and learn to pay attention to the acquisition and sorting of experimental results.
