Personal Profile
Jiaxun Feng, male, born in April 1966, Ph.D., is currently Professor in biology, Vice President of Guangxi University, and Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory for Conservation and Utilization of Subtropical Agro-bioresources at Guangxi University.
He received PhD in microbiology from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China in 1997. He was a visiting PhD student at John Innes Centre, Norwich, U.K. in 1994-1995 and at Mie University, Tsu, Japan in 1996.
He enjoys special government allowances from the State Council. He is one of the first batch of "Bagui Scholars" in Guangxi, a recipient of the Ministry of Education's New Century Excellent Talents Support Program, and the leader of an innovative research team supported by the Guangxi Natural Science Foundation. He also serves as a Vice Chairman of the Local University Education Research Branch of the China Association of Higher Education, and Honorary Chairman of the Guangxi Society for Microbiology.

Teaching Courses: "Advances in Biology" for doctoral students
Research Achievements: Currently, his main research focuses on the development and utilization of microbial resources for biomass conversion and their genetic resources. He has led 12 national projects and 5 provincial projects. He has co-authored 98 peer- reviewed papers and 3 invited review articles in SCI journals, and obtained 20 authorized Chinese invention patents (ranked 1st), 4 of which have been transferred. He has received awards including the first prize of Guangxi Science and Technology Progress Award (ranked third), the first prize of Guangxi Natural Science Award (ranked sixth), and the sixth "China Youth Science and Technology Award". He also won 3 first-class prizes of Guangxi teaching achievement awards in higher education.
